Off-road driving is gaining an increasing number of enthusiasts. Traversing unpaved roads, forest trails, or hilly terrain was until recently only possible with off-road vehicles or small quads. With the emergence of a new type of off-road vehicle, the SSV machines, off-road enthusiasts have gained the opportunity to take on new challenges. SSV vehicles (Side-by-Side Vehicle) combine the best features of off-road vehicles and ATVs. Let's explore their main advantages.

SSV – lightweight construction and excellent off-road capabilities

SSV vehicles are lightweight machines mounted on very durable tubular space frames. The most well-known and valued machines of this type are those produced by Can-Am from the Maverick series. The weight of these vehicles is only about 700 kg, which, combined with the power of the drive units supplied by Rotax – depending on the version from 75 to 195 HP – guarantees incredible performance. Their off-road capabilities are ensured by a specially developed suspension achieving an impressive travel, which in some models can be over 60 cm. They feature floating independent TTI suspension (Torsional Trailing Arm Independent), which guarantees maintaining a stable driving path in the toughest conditions.

A characteristic feature of SSV machines is that they can accommodate two or four people, with seats placed side by side, similar to a classic off-road vehicle. This means the joy of driving can be shared with more passengers.

SSV vehicles are equipment that can perform in any conditions. From muddy forest roads, through mountain trails, to sand dunes, or driving on snow and ice – the driver is always guaranteed an adrenaline-pumping experience.

Importantly, for each SSV, a set of accessories can be purchased, significantly expanding the vehicle's capabilities. Available are, among others, special reinforcements and guards for driving in the most demanding conditions, winches, or door guards, as well as various types of windshields or roofs.
