Safety rules for riding a quad bike

Quads are very practical vehicles that find their application in mountain rescue, the military, as well as in recreational and sports fields. Whether we use a quad for specific purposes or just for fun, it is particularly important to adhere to safety rules. Irresponsible driving can result in serious injuries or even the death of the driver or passenger. Therefore, it is worth being aware of what to pay attention to when using the vehicle - simple rules can significantly minimize the risk.

Preparation for Riding

One of the most important elements of preparation is wearing a helmet. Although quads are four-wheelers, they are not as stable as they might seem. In reality, on uneven terrain, a rollover is not difficult, which is why it is crucial to use a helmet in every situation. Drivers and passengers are obliged to use protective helmets that meet the appropriate technical conditions. The exception is when the quad is factory-equipped with a closed body and seat belts. Besides the helmet, attention should be paid to the rest of the clothing and accessories, including appropriate gloves, high boots, and additional knee and elbow pads.

Another important rule is the correct body posture while riding. The driver should hold the handlebars firmly and ride in a standing position with slightly bent elbows and knees. Moreover, one must control body balance. This posture improves shock absorption and vehicle control.

Quad Condition and Legal Requirements

One aspect is preparation for riding, while another is the vehicle's condition. It is extremely important to ensure the good technical condition of the quad. For this purpose, service visits that include regular inspections should be utilized. In the case of a vehicle in poor condition, where it is practically unfit for further use, it is worth considering purchasing a new quad.

Finally, it is worth emphasizing that a quad is not suitable for all types of roads. For safety reasons, quads are prohibited from driving on highways and expressways.
